CME lab equipment can be booked by current Concordia University graduate students, faculty members, and staff.
It can also be booked by external users, for example researchers from other university and companies.
First Aid and CPR training is open to current Concordia undergraduate and graduate students, faculty members, and staff. However, priority is given to CME department members.
No, you are not permitted to do so.
DO NOT SHUT DOWN the lab equipment after you are done. However, users are required to clean the lab equipment before and after use.
Files should not be saved on the workstations. Any saved files will be deleted.
Equipment should be reserved using the booking website. CME equipment is available Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM.
Booking extensions are based upon availability and granted on a case-by-case basis.
Yes, you will need to register in order to have username and password. Once submitted, you will receive an email confirming your registration.
No, users are not permitted to reserve more than one piece of lab equipment at the same time.
Yes, presentation of your Concordia ID card is mandatory.
If direct costs for equipment or labor have been incurred, full charges will apply.
For example, if there are charges for set up, technicians hired, or expenses incurred prior to the cancellation notification. If the technician requested for the event has arrived to work, the minimum 3 hour technician charge will apply.

When requested, a technician is available on-site for the duration of an event. This request is to be made at the time of the original booking. A minimum of 3 hours is charged.
Assistance and guidance on the usage of equipment at the start of a booking is based upon technician availability and may incur charges.
Most resources are provided with the original instruction manual and you may have received some training from a CME Technician. If you would like further instruction, you may schedule an appointment with a CME Technician for quick tutorials or advice.

Yes, equipment reservations are available for on-campus use and are subject to availability. However, they must complete all the mandatory EH&S training for CME personnel.
You are responsible for the equipment. If the equipment can be repaired, you will be responsible for the cost of the repair. If it cannot be repaired, you will be responsible for the cost to replace it.
Lost equipment must be replaced.
If the equipment is stolen you must file a police report and provide us with a copy, and you are responsible to replace it.
Yes, but you must fulfill all the below requirements.
- Have completed the mandatory Environmental Health & Safety Trainings for CME .
- Have taken the CME Safety Talk.
- Have been trained on the equipment in question.
- Have a valid Concordia ID, or a Concordia Alumni card.
- TAs will require prior authorization from professors in addition to valid identification.
Maximum booking time is 3 hours and is subject to availability.
We require a minimum notice of two working days to process your request. If you are uncertain as to what you need, make an appointment with the CME Technicians to discuss your project prior to booking your equipment.
No, users have to send the sample preparation form to the technician at least 2 days prior to the use of equipment. This is to give the technician time to gather the necessary consumables and to prepare for the requested test ahead of time.
